Moy Park is one of the UK’s (and Europe’s) largest producers of poultry. They supply branded and own label products to leading retailers and food service providers, and are the industry leading manufacturer of organic, free-range and higher welfare chicken.

Moy Park Craigavon has been a long-standing QJS customer, and uses a variety of pressures for their cleaning. The site is a large food processing site, operating with many users and wash points.

Once the Stronghold wash gun range was released for high pressure rinse systems, QJS made contact with Moy Park to introduce it to the factory.

Due to the nature of the products being manufactured, and the high demand on the cleaning and hygiene equipment, it was extremely important that the rinse system and equipment could deliver 24/7. With production time also required to be at a maximum, and application kits required to withstand the harshest of environments, Moy Park needed a wash gun that was durable and user friendly.

Stronghold 2500 was initially offered on a trial basis. The Stronghold 2500 high pressure range is specifically designed for systems of 40+ bar and to withstand the rigorous tasks of a poultry processing factory.

A quick release system was also put forward by QJS to Moy Park, rather than a fixed outlet. This was to enable the team to use the correct nozzle sizes for various tasks and applications. The easy-hold trigger is specifically designed to combat RSI and improve operative comfort, whilst the push-release coupling is easy to operate even when wearing gloves.

Each Stronghold gun comes with a 12 month warranty as standard, meaning that QJS will replace any that break due to wear and tear in this time. They do not fall apart, which is a risk of lower quality guns, which can cause cross-contamination.

After an initial 3 month trial, Moy Park Craigavon have been using Stronghold 2500 wash guns for more than 5 years with great success.

Using the correct nozzles for application and cleaning tasks has reduced the overall water usage at the Craigavon site, whilst the Stronghold guns have proven a success with the hygiene team.

With the strain that high pressure systems place on equipment and the heavy use that wash guns receive, QJS have found that other ranges can last less than 4 months. The Stronghold is designed for durability and longevity

The overall design and usability has proven to be a big hit with the team and the guys are more than happy with them since their introduction.

The guns themselves have proven their worth. These guns are lasting on average 2.5 years which is fantastic value for money.
